for competition, if you find a good brand, you should buy around 2 sizes smaller for more streamline. You'll swim faster. Also, you can check out in stores. Sizing slightly may vary from brand to brand, so it's best to try on swimsuits.
It probably matches your regular panty and shirt size.

Well, usually swimsuits are either your cup size or your waist measurement depending on the brand. A word of advice on suits, the tighter the better. It will give you more streamline.
Here is the size scale from Speedo for racing and triathlon suits.
You should be able to scroll down to find sizing for all most any kind of suit.

yeah u rlly need to try them on cuz like im a size 10 and I wear a size 30 but my friend is a size 4 and she's a size 30 too so u need to try them on and some sizes r different depending on brand too good luck:)

i would say to get one that is kinda tight on ur body and do not get the next size up because when you get in the water ur swimsuit will be realy baggy or if its a two piece it may fall down. good luck :)
